As people filed into Slush Puppie Place to watch bull riding, a group of people protested the event. They said that goading bulls to buck is cruel. They do not support using animals for entertainment. As one protestor said, “the bulls do not have a choice.”
Across the street, young and old, men and women, streamed into the arena. Asked about their decision to watch bull riding, they said “it’s fun", “because it is something to do,” “for the adrenaline rush,” and “to see the bull riders.” Many were coming to a bull riding event for the first time, “to see what it is like.” Others had been to an event or a rodeo and wanted to repeat the experience.
There were two ambulances stationed at the arena.
The protestors plan to return on Wednesday at 5:30.
